The Fergus Falls Target store may be seeing some changes in the future according to a representative from the company. The store is being considered for a remodel but no final decisions have been made at this time. The Fergus Falls store wouldn’t become a Super Target, however.

Bello Cucina opens tomorrow

Chef Jason Muller will open Bello Cucina in Fergus Falls tomorrow. The restaurant will opens at 11AM according to their website. Bello Cucina is replacing the Jazzy Fox which closed late this summer. Bello Cucina will serve everything from Pizzas & Calzones to a variety of pasta dishes. To make an advanced reservation, which is recommended the first few days they are open, call (218)-998-2221.
Family Dollar building almost gone

Demolition of buildings at the future Walgreens site has started early. According to the Daily Journal, demolition was going to start “in a matter of weeks” – as of today, demolition has already started. As Wednesday night, over half of the Famiyl Dollar building had been torn down. BTS Construction of Virginia, MN is the contractor who will continue the demolition part of the project.
Al Franken beats Rob Fitzgerald for Senate

BRIEF – Al Franken has won the democratic US Senate primary race on Tuesday beating Rob Fitzgerald of Fergus Falls. Al Franken received over 60% of the votes while Priscilla Faris received around 30%. Rob Fitzgerald came in at fourth place.
Snap Fitness axes Fergus Plans? Possibly.

In June, we received verification from Snap Fitness confirming a franchisee was opening a center in Fergus Falls. This was confirmed by company officials as well as the Snap Fitness website. However, a tipster has alerted us that Snap Fitness no longer displays Fergus Falls as a upcoming location on their website. In June, their website said that the center would be located at “College Way and W. Lincoln Ave.”
Gate City Bank opening branch in Fergus

Gate City Bank will be opening a branch in Fergus Falls according to the Daily Journal. This comes almost a month afterward Gate City Bank announced plans to build a branch in Alexandria. The proposed bank would open sometime this Spring. Walgreens and Gate City Bank could start construction around the same time – however it is expected that Gate City Bank would be completed first.
First day of school today for many students

Today, September 2nd is the first day of school for many students in the Fergus Falls area. Tomorrow, however, students in grades 10 through 12 that attend school in Fergus Falls will have their first day. Changes for the 2008/09 school year for Fergus Falls Public School students include a remodeled Cleveland elementary and students in grades 7 & 8 will attend the Senior High School.
