Otter Tail County’s CO2 emissions very high

This week, Purdue University in West Lafayette Indiana published The Vulcan Project. This project shows the CO2 emissions for every county in the United States. The total CO2 emissions for Otter Tail County is 0.408. Douglas County, which is home to Alexandria, had total emissions equaling only 0.101 which is significantly lower than Otter Tail’s. However, Stearn’s County where St. Cloud is located, totals 0.428. More information on the Vulcan Project can be found at it’s website, http://www.purdue.edu/eas/carbon/vulcan/. Rev Your Engines! Speedway to re-open Mid-May

Almost two years ago, Speedway closed it’s doors due to construction on the road leading to it’s restaurant. However, Speedway will re-open in the middle of May and offer a new look inside along with new menu items such as pasta and seafood. Curt Burdick, the owner of Speeday, said he plans to hire 45 to 50 staff in the upcoming weeks.

Tragic Band Trip accident near Albertville

A bus carrying students and parents from Pelican Rapids has been involved in a fatal accident on Interstate 94 near Albertville. They were coming back from a band trip in Chicago. 1 person has been confirmed dead and at least 4 others were seriously injured. The bus was from Richards Transportation Service and was from Moorhead. We advise anyone interested in this story to stay tuned to WCCO TV and/or WCCO.com.

Twin Cities to see 50Mbps broadband

Comcast is launching it’s new “Super Charged” broadband service right here in Minnesota – in the Twin Cities area to be exact. Subscribers can expect download speeds of up to 50 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5Mbps however, they’ll need to shell $149.99 out of their pockets every month. The new Comcast service is over 15 times faster than Park Region’s fastest internet speed of 3Mbps.

New resturant for previous Speedway?

Today, Speedway in Fergus Falls removed the letter’s from it’s sign that said “For Sale or Lease”. This could mean that a new restaurant has decided to move into the former building and give Fergus Falls a shot.
